Every Official English Baihe (Chinese GL) Novel, and Where to Buy It

Ten licensed Chinese GL novels, five you can read today, three due in 2027 and two stuck in publishing limbo.

Ten Chinese GL novels had an official English licence by October 2026. Five are readable now: Taiwan Travelogue, The Beauty's Blade, At the World's Mercy, The Creator's Grace and the serial The Clouds of Past Millennia. Three are due in 2027; two are stuck.

Last checked: October 2026. Release dates move, so check the publisher's page before you preorder.

That is the whole shelf. Baihe (百合, bǎihé, "lily") is the Chinese word for girls' love, and if you want the longer story of where the term comes from and why its web novels run so long, start with What is baihe?. This page does one job only: it lists every baihe novel, meaning prose rather than comics, that a publisher or licensed platform has actually put into English or formally announced, with the original title, the author, who sells it and where it stands.

Two rules shaped the list. Each licence and author credit was confirmed by two independent sources, usually the publisher's own page plus a catalogue or trade report. And every romance here is between adult women. Fan translations are not on it, however famous the book.

Out now

Taiwan Travelogue (臺灣漫遊錄)

Author: Yáng Shuāng-zǐ (楊双子), translated by Lin King · Publisher: Graywolf Press (US), And Other Stories (UK) · Status: Released November 12, 2024

In 1938 a Japanese novelist with an enormous appetite tours colonial Taiwan with a younger Taiwanese interpreter, Chizuru, and falls for a woman who keeps her at arm's length across a gap of class and empire. It is the outlier here: a literary novel first published in Taiwan in 2020, not a JJWXC serial, so purists who use baihe to mean mainland web fiction may balk. Taiwanese press coverage files it under historical baihe (歷史百合), and the author has said it was this book that made the label stick. It won the 2024 National Book Award for Translated Literature and the 2026 International Booker Prize, which also makes it the one book on this page most public libraries will have.

The Beauty's Blade: Mei Ren Jian (美人剑)

Author: Feng Ren Zuo Shu (封刃作书), translated by Yu · Publisher: Seven Seas · Status: Released November 11, 2025, complete in one volume

Fu Wanqing, heir to a respected martial sect, wants a duel with the demonic sect leader Yu Shengyan. What she gets is a bargain over a rare medicine that keeps the two rivals together for three months. This was Seven Seas' first baihe novel, and the publisher credited readers' response to it when it launched a separate Seven Seas Baihe label in February 2026. It is rated 17+ and comes in print and ebook. Readers who want more swords and sects should see our list of xianxia GL novels in English.

At the World's Mercy (我为鱼肉)

Author: Ning Yuan (宁远) · Publisher: Rosmei · Status: Volumes 1–2 released March 2026, eight volumes planned

In the realm of Great Yu, where women have only recently taken power, General Zhen Wenjun and Chief Minister Wei Tingxu look like the perfect married couple. Each is hiding what she really wants. It is court intrigue at full length (the JJWXC original runs past 1.2 million Chinese characters) and is rated Mature (18+).

The catch is the shop. Rosmei is based in Singapore and, as DanmeiNews reports, its licence "only allows them to sell within Singapore". Everyone else buys through group orders, parcel-forwarding services or Rosmei's partner retailers, and the books are print only.

The Creator's Grace (造物的恩宠)

Author: Ning Yuan (宁远), translated by Serena and Shigure · Publisher: Rosmei · Status: Volume 1 released March 2026, four volumes planned

Six years after her sister's mysterious death, Chi Yu comes home from abroad to confront Ran Jin, the brilliant, unreadable woman who rose to power under that sister and is accused of killing her. Rosmei files it as science fiction and mystery, and what Chi Yu uncovers changes how she reads the whole story. Same author as At the World's Mercy, same Singapore-only buying problem, rated 17+.

Announced

All three upcoming titles are from Seven Seas Baihe and were announced at Anime Expo in July 2026. Seven Seas lists each at $19.99 with an ebook edition. All three come from JJWXC, and two are by the same author.

Miss Forensics (我亲爱的法医小姐)

Author: Jiu Nuan Chun Shen (酒暖春深) · Publisher: Seven Seas · Status: Vol. 1 due July 6, 2027

A hot-headed forensic doctor and the cold detective who keeps testing her, on cases and off them. Seven Seas calls it "highly-requested", and the original runs to roughly 880,000 Chinese characters, so expect several volumes.

Matrilocal Marriage: Ruzhui (入赘)

Author: Qing Jun Mo Xiao (请君莫笑) · Publisher: Seven Seas · Status: Vol. 1 due August 24, 2027

Yun An, heartbroken after her girlfriend of four years cheats on her with her best friend, volunteers for a time-travel experiment and lands in a dynasty no history book records. A free meal at the wealthy Lin family's banquet goes wrong, and she finds herself betrothed to their heiress, Lin Buxian, who has just turned twenty. Seven Seas pitches it as a slow burn, and the JJWXC listing recommends it for readers over 18.

My Wandering Spirit Lady (我的游魂小姐)

Author: Qing Jun Mo Xiao (请君莫笑) · Publisher: Seven Seas · Status: Vol. 1 due October 26, 2027

Su Momo wakes up in hospital with no memory and a woman's ghost at her bedside, one her heart seems to recognise even though she doesn't. A modern ghost romance, and the shortest of the three in Chinese at about 280,000 characters.

Licensed, but stuck

Two more novels by Qing Jun Mo Xiao, Female General and Eldest Princess (女将军和长公主) and Clear and Muddy Loss of Love (泾渭情殇), were licensed by the Spain-based publisher Monogatari Novels. Their English release has slipped from May 2025 to November 2025 and then to March 3, 2026. DanmeiNews reported that the March date passed with no books and that large retailers sent out cancellations. A handful of early copies of Female General volume 1 reached some preorder buyers, but there has been no general release. We have left out premises until the books can actually be bought. Retailer pages showing old 2025 dates are not a sign that either book is in stock.

Official digital serials

The Clouds of Past Millennia (白云千载)

Author: popopo, translated by hazevie · Platform: Baiheverse · Status: Complete, 29 sections (27 chapters, an extra and an afterword)

Emperor Wei Zai dies at forty-one and wakes, more than a thousand years later, as the only ghost in her own mausoleum. It has since become a public park full of square-dancing aunties. Then a graduate student who looks exactly like Wei Zai's old chancellor stops to read the chancellor's sign aloud, and turns out to be able to see her.

It is short, about one book's worth, and you pay by the chapter after the first three, which are free. Two sections carry a mature-content flag. Baiheverse launched in March 2025 as a digital-only licensed publisher, and this was its first title. So far it is the only baihe novel we have found in an official English web edition. The rest of Baiheverse's catalogue is comics, audio and video.

What's not on this list, and why

  • Comics. Licensed baihe manhua and webtoons outnumber the novels several times over. They deserve their own list.
  • Fan translations. If a site offers a free, complete English translation of a baihe title that isn't above, it is not an official edition, and its author is probably not being paid.
  • Literary lesbian classics. Qiu Miaojin's Notes of a Crocodile (NYRB Classics, 2017) is a landmark of Taiwanese lesbian fiction, but it isn't marketed as baihe, so we left it out rather than stretch the label.
  • ABO and quick transmigration. Both are big in Chinese GL web fiction, and we have found no official English novel in either as of October 2026.
  • School-age leads. We found no licensed baihe novel whose romance is between minors, so there was nothing to put in a separate note.

Original English baihe-style serials

NovelMyth also publishes its own serials in baihe genres, written in English for this site. They are originals, not translations of any Chinese novel. The Demonic Cultivator Owes Me Her Life is a xianxia romantic comedy about a runaway demonic-sect heir who stages her own rescue, and Rewind to the Day I Married Her is a rebirth story in which a woman who signed her divorce without reading it wakes up on her wedding day. Both are free to read.
